I've lived all of my 62 years in the area, attended Glendale schools, and taught for 36 years in Glendale (Wilson Jr. High and Hoover High). I co-wrote a syndicated column as well as two books with author Leo Buscaglia. I also wrote a column, "Education Matters", for the Glendale News Press from 2003 to 2011 and received a second place in the Columns category from the California Newspaper Publishers Assn. in 2004. I've been married for 40 years to my wife, Nadine. We have two daughters and three grandchildren.
I was cited for plagiarism in less than 1% of my writing for the News Press. Some of those citations bear an explanation and some of them are due to my own occasional laziness as a writer. I am a great believer in learning from one's mistakes and with this blog, I hope to re-establish a voice as well as the trust of those who might still be interested in what I have to say.
