Paula Samonte is a musician's singer, she has  performed on radio and television, recorded with Sarah Vaughan's band, sang in nite clubs in New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Los Angeles and many other venues around the states. She has written some original songs that are on her new CD "Paula Live II," and also wrote music and lyrics for the popular new musical Cancel Christmas

Paula shares her birthday, June 1st, with Marilyn Monroe. Paula is also a talented actress, who has performed leading roles in top musicals. She has won awards for her performances. You can read her résumé at the bottom of this page, or click on the link below.

Red Carpet Screening of “Key Largo” Kicks-Off
Film Festival and Tribute to Actress Claire Trevor
At Claire Trevor School of the Arts / UC Irvine

WHO: The Claire Trevor School of the Arts at University of California, Irvine has organized the Claire Trevor Film Festival to mark what would have been the actress’s centennial birthday. One of her films will be screened each month through June. The screening of “Key Largo” on Saturday, Oct. 30 kicks-off the School’s year-long tribute to Ms. Trevor.

WHAT: By following the searchlights up Mesa Road at University Drive and crossing the bridge to the Arts Plaza, guests will step back in time for Irvine's red carpet premiere of “Key Largo,” the classic 1948 film for which Claire Trevor received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Admission to the movie is free with first come, first serve seating.

SPECIAL
NOTE: ***Or, for those who want to party like it's1948 -- for just $19.48 per person, guests will receive Reserved Preferred Seating in Winifred Smith Hall and admittance to a VIP Reception prior to the screening, complete with a Martini & Blini Bar and entertainment from renowned torch singer Paula Samonte and acclaimed piano man Gary Busby.

Advance reservations are required for the VIP Reception with Reserved Seating.

BACKGROUND NOTE: The Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine is dedicating its 2010-2011 performance season to the legacy of Claire Trevor on the occasion of her centennial birthday and to honor her advocacy of the Arts and its students. A Newport Beach resident, Ms. Trevor spent many hours on the campus, freely giving her time to students, advising them and inspiring them.

This also is the 10th anniversary of the School being named for her and several special event are planned to acknowledge her contributions to both the School and the entertainment industry. The “Key Largo” Premiere and VIP Reception begin the tributes, which will culminate with the installation of a star in front of the campus theatre that already bears her name. Hers will be the first star in the School’s very own “Walk of Fame.”
